About Us

About The School

Bergmann School of Dance offers classes in classical ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz, and Pilates for ages three to adult. We offer a different approach from the many competition driven dance studios. Director, Angela Bergmann, understands there are many reasons why dance is important to each student. She also knows the lessons learned in dance class reach far beyond the studio in that character traits such as a good work ethic, integrity, honesty, and responsibility will benefit the student no matter what he/she strives for in the future.

The focus at Bergmann School Of Dance is education, of which classical ballet is the foundation. Even in contemporary, tap and jazz, ballet terminology and technique come into play. Without basic ballet knowledge students are at a disadvantage. Therefore, ballet is where students begin and may branch out into different styles of dance.

Angela Bergmann – Director

Angela Bergmann studied dance under the instruction of Barbara Wood for 35 years. She has taught in the Fort Worth/Weatherford area for over 20 years.
Angela began teaching a small group at her church where she also choreographed Godspell. She spent a year as assistant to Barbara Wood at the Wood Studio of Dance and taught 8 years for Sharon Baggett at the Weatherford Dance Center. She also teaches Pilates and understands how to utilize core muscles in order to dance safely and with efficiency.
Angela was also a member/choreographer for The Kesheth Dancers of Dallas for 15 years. This group performed liturgical dance in worship services and workshops through-out the state. Some of her performing highlights with this group included dancing with the Vocal Majority Chorus, where she met her husband.
Encouraged by Mrs. Wood, Angela studied for and passed the oral and dance exam requirements for membership into the Texas Association Teachers of Dancing, Inc. in 2006. She attends yearly TATD conventions to expand her teaching skills under the instruction of highly sought-after teachers. She enjoys these conventions, which are based on education.
She has also studied with several teachers in New York, including a teacher’s workshop with Finis Jhung, who is well known in the dance community for his fresh approach to teaching ballet.
Angela is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Bergmann School Of Dance has been a safe place of learning since 2007. We invite you to experience dance education in our new expanded studios, where artistic expression is encouraged of each student and the dancer’s needs come before the dance. Looking forward to meeting you and sharing the wonderful world of dance!
